Sun Valley Lodging Accommodations in Ketchum, Idaho
At the Foot of Bald Mountain!
Your Ketchum vacation rental lodging at the foot of
Sun Valley's famous ski mountain is ideally located in west Ketchum.
It's just a block to fishing and dog swims in the Wood River and a
short block further on the riverside footpath or bike/ski trail to
ski lifts (the Bald Mountain lift includes a new 8-person gondola) and the fabulous River Run day lodge and shops.
This Sun Valley home is a private paired home.
The walkway is accessible - there are no stairs from your car to the
front door or
inside to primary living spaces.
You'll enjoy a private space setback from the
street with trees all around and an unobstructed (vacant lot) view
of Mt. Baldy - plus you can walk to the river and lifts.
Conveniently in town core, you'll experience a cozy, tastefully and artfully decorated "log cabin in the woods", with views
mostly of mountains and trees -- not a unit in a high-density condo
or townhome complex (looking out at other buildings and with little
or no garden or deck space).
Your Ketchum oasis is just minutes from all attractions. Yet, your
accommodations are nestled in a serene, heavily-wooded, ample garden
setting with over 30 evergreen, aspen, and deciduous trees and
shrubs. plus VIEWS!
The vacation rental home
features a dramatic, authentic river rock fireplace beside tall
windows. Stunning interior and exterior vistas are visible
from from ALL rooms and hallways.
The privately-owned home is
two stories, with 2 bedrooms (1 King up, 1 Queen down)
plus den (with Queen bed), and includes two baths. (See views
of the living room, downstairs bedroom, kitchen, and upstairs bedroom.)
There is also a bonus/projects/pet room in connected building by the
The home is centrally located in west Ketchum, just two blocks
along the Wood River to ski lifts and the fabulous River Run day
Lovely mountain views are available from every
room, including baths and hallways. Art, carvings, and artifacts --
Native American, wildlife, fish, fly-fishers, mountains,
rivers -- plus lots of beautiful teak or oak woods, create a cozy
and peaceful interior.
The large kitchen/bar and dining area (with
lovely teak tables and graceful chairs), two separate TV/stereo
centers, reading areas, as well as outdoor deck/teak chairs
and redwood table offer multiple choices for entertaining.
The back and side fenced garden is very private and beautifully
landscaped, populated by more than 15 trees, with moutain views between and above. More trees surround
the larger front yard which sets our home well away from the low-traffic street.
The private one-car garage (and long driveway that can accommodate 3-4
cars) plus laundry and bonus/projects room is in a separate, connected log
building across the front porch.
There is little traffic on Bordeaux Street and no through traffic
or buses, but the free local bus stops conveniently only one block
away by the bike/ski trail. The river (and
great fishing!) is close by.

Year Round Recreation
When staying at our home enjoy a walk to the Sun Valley Center
for the Arts, restaurants, art galleries and stores, river and
bike/hike trails. Free Summer Symphony concerts and
professional ice-skating shows, featuring world-class stars and
talented locals, are big attractions in August, as is a major jazz
festival in October. Key Summer and Fall attractions also include
tennis, golf and (all-season) fly-fishing, hiking and biking. In
addition to world-renowned Winter sports (downhill, x-country and
skate skiing, snowboarding), our community offers
live professional theatre shows and workshops, horse shows and rodeos,
many festivals (film, music, art, wine, writers),
ice-skating shows and ice-hockey games, yoga, golf, spiritual and wellness events, and more! Our Wood River Valley and
entire Sawtooth National Recreation Area (including wilderness and
the Salmon "River of No Return") nearby is a photographer's Mecca --
and is very dog-friendly with lots of happy dogs. Most things are
accessed within 5-15 minutes from our home.
For more information about the area, visit the Sun
Valley/Ketchum Chamber and Visitors Bureau website.
We are delighted to stay in our Idaho oasis whenever our
schedules allow us to be in town. We
love skiing, hiking, fishing, photography, theatre, music and other
activities here. We also are very happy
sitting and viewing the area's natural splendor.
We look forward to sharing our perfect environment
with you. Come visit!
